Ethnic Roots llega a Guyana para tejer redes culturales entre Colombia y el Caribe 
La Embajada de Colombia en Guyana, en alianza con el Ministerio de Cultura, Juventud y Deportes de Guyana y la Universidad de Guyana, realizará los días 27 y 28 de octubre de 2025 una serie de encuentros teatrales bajo el título “Sounds and Stages of Origin: Weaving Cultural Networks Between Colombia and Guyana”, con la participación especial de la dramaturga y actriz raizal Marilyn Biscaíno Miller, directora del Festival Internacional de Teatro Ethnic Roots (FIER 2025).El evento de apertura se llevará a cabo el lunes 27 de octubre en el World Trade Centre Building, 44 High Street, Kingston, seguido de un taller teatral de creación colectiva para jóvenes artistas y practicantes el martes 28 de octubre en el Theatre Guild Play House, en Kingston.
Nuestro anfitrión es el Embajador de Colombia en Guyana, Graybern Livingston, a quien expresamos nuestro profundo agradecimiento por su gestión en favor del intercambio cultural y su visión de integración de los pueblos a través del arte

Extendemos también un cálido saludo a su familia y a todo el equipo de la embajada, por abrir caminos de hermandad entre Colombia y Guyana.Esta iniciativa busca fortalecer los lazos culturales entre ambos países, promoviendo el intercambio artístico, el diálogo sobre las raíces afrocaribeñas y el reconocimiento de la diversidad escénica que nos une.
Desde Ethnic Roots, celebramos esta extensión del festival hacia el Caribe anglófono como un paso más en nuestra apuesta por una cultura de paz, ancestralidad y conexión insular.
& Ethnic Roots arrives in Guyana to weave cultural networks between Colombia and the Caribbean The Embassy of Colombia in Guyana, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport of Guyana and the University of Guyana, will host a series of theatrical encounters on October 27 and 28, 2025, under the title “Sounds and Stages of Origin: Weaving Cultural Networks Between Colombia and Guyana”, featuring the special participation of Raizal playwright and actress Marilyn Biscaíno Miller, director of the Ethnic Roots International Theatre Festival (FIER 2025).The opening ceremony will take place on Monday, October 27, at the World Trade Centre Building, 44 High Street, Kingston, followed by a Collective Creation Theatre Workshop for young artists and practitioners on Tuesday, October 28, at the Theatre Guild Play House, Kingston.
Our host, Ambassador Graybern Livingston, has been a key promoter of this cultural exchange. We express our deep gratitude for his leadership and vision of integrating peoples through art . We also extend a warm greeting to his family and the entire Embassy team for opening paths of friendship and collaboration between Colombia and Guyana.This initiative seeks to strengthen cultural ties between both nations, promoting artistic exchange, dialogue on Afro-Caribbean roots, and recognition of the diverse theatrical traditions that unite us.
From Ethnic Roots, we celebrate this expansion of the festival into the Anglophone Caribbean as another step in our commitment to a culture of peace, ancestry, and island connection.
